Still looking for a rental to call home in 2025? Alan Krawitz, Real Estate Tech Entrepreneur, shares the top digital platforms for finding that new place to call home (for now):

Zillow isn’t the only platform showing rentals in your area! As someone interested in (and invested in) real estate tech, Alan Krawitz keeps his eye out for the latest digital real estate platforms. Gone are the days of scouring free magazines for real estate listings or cruising through your desired neighborhood in search of a “For Rent” sign. In 2025, the only real estate platforms are plentiful. Here are a few of Krawitz’s favorites for finding the best rentals — wherever you are!
HotPads
Focused on rental properties, this real estate marketplace is no new kid on the block. Around since 2005, the marketplace has been a staple for renters and landlords alike. Although the platform has since been acquired by Zillow, HotPads continues to be exclusive to the renter market. This is a particularly great choice for pet owners seeking homes and apartments that are pet-friendly. On HotPads, landlords are upfront about their pet policies, which is helpful for renters with four-legged family members.
Zumper
The second largest platform of its kind, Zumper also caters to the needs of renters. Alan Krawitz prefers Zumper for its extensive focus on neighborhood information. Let’s face it: it’s hard to envision what a neighborhood might be like, based on a Google Maps or Zillow listing image. Zumper offers an inside look into what’s what, with room for city guides and much more.
